What we make
FITS LIKE is a women’s second-skin layers label working out of a single studio in Farnham, Surrey. We design and finish sculpt tanks and ribbed body tanks, fitted long-sleeve base layers, cycle shorts, high-waist leggings, seamless under-layer skirts and close-fitting bodysuits, in a colour range built around deep navy and claret. Fit is the whole point: every piece is graded with negative ease so it holds the body without gripping, seams are flatlocked so no allowance sits against the skin, hems and arm openings are bonded flat so nothing prints through what you wear over the top, and waistbands are cut from knitted elastic so they stay where you put them. We keep the range deliberately short, sell direct from stock we hold ourselves, and put the money into knit quality and finishing rather than into a longer catalogue.
How we work
We work in small quantities and keep the whole process on one floor in Farnham. A style begins as a paper block, gets sewn as a first sample, then goes through two or three fit rounds on the stand and on the body before we commit to fabric. Rolls rest flat for two days so the knit relaxes and stops moving on the table. Elastic-heavy knits are cut in short stacks so the plies cannot creep, seams are joined on a flatlock, waistbands are stretch-checked by hand against a marked rule, hems are bonded and peel-tested, and strap joins are bar-tacked twice. Finished pieces are measured against the chart inside a 1cm tolerance, steamed, folded and shelved as stock, which is why the shop shows what is genuinely on the shelf. Orders are picked, checked and packed here and leave within 2-3 working days.
